[APP] Boot Image Changer

Thanks to the work of nodramachicks and AKSD we now have an app that automates the proccess of changing your boot image (as referenced in section "Q" of the Guide to Modding Sticky)

How to install:
It's a normal .pkg app so it's easy to install for details about this read stickies.


How to use:
-Browse your phone's memory by the default browser and open the desired gif image with BootImg.
(don't check the Always use this app.... thing)
(in the screenshot i open it with smartasst because i prefer integrating many things in it rather than having all of them installed in the menu)



-ekonsole will open up


-in the dropbox from the right-down side it's exactly the neccessary command to apply your .gif image as boot image. Click on the dropbox and select the only option available.


-now that the command is written you must click on the middle of the screen once so that the drop-box gets to be deselected and click [enter] from the digital keyboard or simply press the middle joystick button


-It will ask if you want to apply it as boot, click yes


-Meantime all the output of the app can be seen in the console


-It will ask for reboot, click yes if you want to see the result.

you just need to have a copy of the original boot image, and run the app again

will this application works on generic firmware???
mine is 08p
please let me know...& how could i extract the original boot image??
even using telnet i didn't find it...or please tell me the path of the default boot image so that i can extract it.

if someone has the default image please upload it here and i'll add an option to the app to restore default.
